Kidnapper and killer of father of Super Eagles star arrested after 5 years on the run

By Daily Sports on April 28, 2019

Police detectives attached to the Anambra State Command Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) at about 1:30 p.m. on Saturday nabbed a runaway suspect, Ikechukeu Emile.

The 30 years old who escaped arrest five years ago was arrested in his hideout at Anaku, Ayamelum Local Government Area of the state, following credible intelligence.

News Express reports that in 2014, Pa Iloanyusi, aged 85 years and father of Ex-Super Eagles star Chikelu Iloanyusi, was kidnapped and murdered, allegedly by Ikechukwu Emilie, a notorious kidnapper terrorising Anaku and Otoucha axis in Anambra State.

The suspect was rounded up at Phix Motel Abagana where he jumped down from a three-storey building with handcuffs and escaped.

He subsequently became elusive and all efforts to get him rearrested failed.

A statement by Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Haruna Mohammed, said that the case is under investigation after which the suspect would be charged to court for prosecution.
