Super Eagles Legend, Christian Chukwu has received the cheque of $50,000 from Businessman, Femi Otedola for his medical treatment in America.
The Billionaire announced that he will pay the medical bills of the former Green Eagles captain who has been battling with an undisclosed ailment.
The Cheque was presented to The Chairman as he is fondly called on Wednesday afternoon at his Enugu Residence.
Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and NFF President, Amaju Pinnick were also present.
Chukwu will be flown abroad next week to begin his medical treatment.
Otedola confirmed the development to TheCable.
The governor just called to thank me immensely and I spoke to Christian Chukwu too. He will be flown abroad next week.
I told him he will be fine and I will make sure he is provided with the best health services,” Otedola told TheCable on phone.
Chukwu was the first Nigerian captain to lift the African Nations Cup trophy after a 3-0 victory over Algeria in the final in 1980.
He was in charge of the Super Eagles team that crashed out in the Semi Final of the 2004 African Cup of Nations in Tunisia.
Chukwu coached Enugu Rangers to 6th place in the 2008-2009 edition of the Nigeria Premier League.
Chairman also captained the Enugu Rangers team that won the 1977 African Winners’ Cup.
