Ronaldo opens up after revelation of ‘gay relationship’ (Plus: Intimate photo of him and alleged gay lover)

Troubled soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has opened up, admitting that “personal problems” have taken a toll on his form this season.

Last week it was claimed on French television that the Real Madrid star, 30, was flying to North Africa three or four times a week after training sessions for ‘cuddles’ with Moroccan kickboxer Badr Hari.

Speaking after his side’s 8-0 demolition of Malmo on Tuesday, Ronaldo acknowledged that off-field issues have been affecting his performances.

He told Spanish TV station Antena 3: “I have been below my level. You have to take into account that I have had some personal problems. I would prefer to keep them to myself – but I am in a better place now.”

Ronaldo cut a dejected figure after Madrid’s 4-0 Clasico thumping against Barcelona last month.

And rumours off a behind-the-scenes feud with under-fire Bernabeu boss Rafa Benitez have seen the three-time Ballon d’Or winner linked with mega-money moves to Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.

But Ronaldo insisted he has no problems with the former Liverpool manager, and confirmed he will NOT be leaving the La Liga giants this summer.

He added: “I have two years left on my contract, and I will stay here.

“It’s only speculation. These rumours surface every year, but I am happy here.

“It is normal to be criticised, at a club like Real Madrid, when things don’t go well.

“We have to give Benitez time. He is doing a good job and is adapting well to Real Madrid.

“I have a good relationship with him, as do all other players.”
