Mbappe Is Already A Phenomenon — Neymar

By Daily Sports on March 29, 2019

Neymar believes that Paris Saint-Germain team-mate Kylian Mbappe is already a “phenomenon” and will go onto be one of the biggest names in world football.

Mbappe has enjoyed a meteoric rise to the top since his breakout season with Monaco in 2016-17, winning Ligue 1 twice – soon to be three times – and the World Cup, even scoring in the final.

He has amassed a staggering 31 goals and 15 assists in all competitions from just 35 appearances this season, including 26 goals and eight assists in 23 Ligue 1 games.

Both Neymar and Edinson Cavani – the other two members of PSG’s first-choice front three – have endured spells out with injury, but Mbappe shouldered the added responsibility without batting an eyelid.

And Brazil international Neymar was full of praise for his young team-mate, who he feels can improve even further.

“For me, right now [Mbappe]’s already a phenomenon, he can have a great career and become even better than he already is,” Neymar said in an exclusive interview with

DAZN and Goal.

“I have no doubt about it that he will become one of the biggest names in world football. He is a calm person, happy, full of joy, always ready to joke around. Obviously, he’s still a ‘kid’ and has to gain more experience.”

Both Neymar and Mbappe have regularly been linked with a big-money moves to Real Madrid, and those rumours have gathered pace – particularly in Mbappe’s case – following the reappointment of Frenchman Zinedine Zidane.

Mbappe has previously made no secret of his admiration for Los Blancos but ended up joining PSG from Monaco ahead of the 2017-18 season.

PSG are 20 points clear of second-placed Lille in Ligue 1 with a game in hand, though it has been suggested that Mbappe may have already outgrown the French side and could benefit from moving to a more competitive league.

Additionally, PSG’s continued inability to mount a serious challenge for the Champions League trophy could see the young France international’s head turned by a club with a far more illustrious record in the competition. (Goal)
