Deputy Governor of Edo State, Hon. Philip Shaibu, is to serve as Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for Edo 2020 National Sports Festival to be hosted by the state.

Governor Godwin Obaseki announced this after the state signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Sports in Abuja.

The sports-loving Governor said that the state is ready to host the best ever National Sports Festival come next year.

“Edo State is known for sports. As we host other states next year our sportsmen and women will show what they are made of and we have many talents in the state,” Obaseki said on Tuesday.

“Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu is to head the LOC and with him and others we are going to host the best National Sports Festival,” the Governor further said.
