The winning coach for the team during the last edition held in United Arab Emirates (UAE), Manu Garba, has stamped the views of Emmanuel Amuneke believing that with zeal, focus and determination to conquer the current Eaglets can do it just like their predecessors.
The former U-20 handler said that the country has the desirable testimony of four titles in this class with victories in 1985, 1993, 2007 and 2013. It would be recalled that Garba, was involved to the last two triumphant battle, insists that the set of 2015 can go out and all the way to grab it thereby shutting up the bookmakers again.
He however advised that the Chile 2015 U-17 World Cup that have Nigeria against host Chile, Croatia and USA, he felt the team under his former assistant, Emmanuel Amuneke would have to tighten up and face the realities gamely.
“Yes, it’s not a push over group, no doubt. Chile as the host and South American teams are always good. The opponents would be afraid of each other knowing the pedigree of each team. I believe with hard work, depth planning and precision thinking and execution by the bench we will get quality display from team and Eaglets won’t be an exception,” he explained.
Garba said that for instance, “Croatia, which is part of former Yugoslavia, along with Serbia that just won the U-20 FIFA World Cup in New Zealand. That demonstrates their football tradition, is compact and of high-quality. It is not hidden that USA plays with total assault. The whole of these scenarios are up against Nigeria, the four-time World Cup winner and the No. 1 positioned team at that category.
“My consolation is that with fantastic preparations spiced with concentration Iam positive that with an unparalleled motivation, we can qualify from this dreaded group and go all the way to excel, good luck Golden Eaglets in Chile,” he affirms.
