Juventus’ sporting director reveals how the club signed Cristiano Ronaldo

By Daily Sports on December 25, 2018

Cristiano Ronaldo’s move from Real Madrid to Juventus took the football world by storm, but Juventus’ sporting director Fabio Paratici has said the deal wasn’t that difficult to complete. Deciding his time at Madrid was up,

Ronaldo made it clear that Turin was to be his next destination, which helped the Italian champions to make the move happen. “I think the toughest negotiation we had was for [Carlos] Tevez,” Paratici said to Sky Sport Italia. “Cristiano Ronaldo was quite simple because he wanted to come to Juventus and there was no need to convince him.

“I think he decided around May 25, after the Champions League final, and his response was immediate.”

The Portuguese’s intentions were clear and he made it obvious from early on that Juventus was the only place he wanted to be.

“He told us that he only wanted to come to Juventus ,” Paratici added.

“We met with [Jorge] Mendes to talk about Joao Cancelo and we discussed

Cristiano.

“‘You won’t believe it, but Cristiano wants to come to Juve’, Mendes told me.

“I spoke with the president and told him there was an opportunity, he asked me for a day or two to think about it, but then called me three hours later and told me to write the contracts.” (Marca)
