Cristiano Ronaldo has posted a photo of a reunion with his old manager at Manchester United Sir Alex Ferguson, while he also had a special message for the legendary Scot.
The Portugal international played a key role as Juventus moved five points clear at the top of Champions League Group H by beating United at Old Trafford.
In a game in which Juve dominated, Paulo Dybala's first-half goal was enough to give the visitors victory on what was the second time Ronaldo's returned to the club where he became a superstar.
And Ronaldo made sure he caught up with his former manager during his time in Manchester, with the five-time Ballon d’Or winner posting a photo on his social media accounts where he appears alongside the 76-year-old.
The caption that goes with the photo reads: “A great coach and above all a wonderful man.
“Taught me so many things inside and outside the pitch. Great to see you in good shape, Boss!”
Ronaldo moved to United as a teenager in 2003, and was immediately handed the No.7 shirt vacated by David Beckham who, ironically, had joined Real Madrid.
The young forward developed into an elite-level player at United, winning the first of his five Ballon d’Or awards at Old Trafford, as well as lifting three Premier League titles, the FA Cup, the Champions League and the Club World Cup.
Sir Alex Ferguson, meanwhile, had been in intensive care earlier in the year and underwent emergency surgery after he suffered a brain haemorrhage.
Having recovered from the operation, he returned to Old Trafford for the first time for United’s Premier League clash with Wolves in September, with there being further positive signs following the latest image of him meeting up with Ronaldo. (Goal)
