The leadership of Lagos SWAN has congratulated the Nigeria Football Federation President, Amaju Melvin Pinnick and the 1st Vice President, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi on their re-election in Katsina for another term in office.
Speaking on behalf of the Lagos State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), the Chairman, Debo Oshundun, said their re-election is a testament to their achievements in the last four years.
“As the most vibrant chapter of SWAN, we wish to felicitate with you over this uncommon feat which you have achieved as a team. We must commend you for the innovations you have brought to the Nigerian Football scene in the last four years
Lagos SWAN said Nigerian Football has never had it so good.
Oshundun in his congratulatory message pledged the unalloyed support of Lagos SWAN to Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, who he described as a ‘friend of the house’.
“The working relationship between Lagos SWAN and Lagos State Football Association which you preside over as Chairman has continued to improve because of the mutual respect we share.
“Like the popular saying goes, one good turn deserves another. Your passion for grassroots football development at the state and national level is unparalleled. You have continued to bring stability to the NFF and I believe with the continued cooperation between Lagos SWAN, NFF, Lagos FA and other stakeholders, Nigerian Football will be better for it,” Oshundun said.
He concluded by tasking the present NFF leadership to double their efforts in ensuring that Nigerian football occupies its rightful place with all genuine stakeholders brought to the round table after the elections.
