Lennox Lewis tweets after Jarrell Miller disrespects Anthony Joshua’s mother

By Daily Sports on July 20, 2018

Anthony Joshua struggled to hide his anger on Wednesday after hearing that Jarrell Miller had mentioned his mother as a way of insulting him.

While conducting an interview with Sporting News the day after the DAZN press conference in New York, Joshua was informed about the American’s jibe.

“What?” Joshua replied after being told Miller said he wanted to take his mum out on a date. “Come and say it to my face.”

“I’m still thinking about that comment,” the 28-year-old continued.

Asked if he felt Miller had crossed a line, Joshua added: “Yeah that’s what I’m saying. Yeah. He needs to watch his mouth because I’m not someone who talks for clout.

“Miller isn’t cut from the same cloth as me so he should watch how he talks.”

It was a firm warning from a visibly perturbed Joshua, angry that Miller had dared to mention his mother while trash-talking.

Even if this was simply a crude attempt to grab AJ’s attention, Miller shouldn’t be surprised by Joshua’s reaction.

The 30-year-old, who is hoping to fight Joshua if the Brit decides to go Stateside in 2019 after the Deontay Wilder deal fell through, has also been criticised by other boxers for mentioning the mother of a potential opponent.

Lewis tweeted: " I don't like this disrespecting someone’s mum. It would pr make sure u NEVER got a figh unless u made it to mandator and even then, it’s gonna be for that person." (givemesport.com)
