Barcelona defender Pique: Real Madrid chose right with Lopetegui appointment

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique admits the sacking of Julen Lopetegui is frustrating for Spain's players.

Lopetegui has since been presented as new Real Madrid coach.

Pique said, "It was a situation that nobody wanted to go through.

"The World Cup has just started. When we finished, it will be a moment to go back over. Speak about it as little as possible and focus on the football.

"There were meetings between different people and the president made the decision and everything stays in house.

"He's a great coach and Madrid have hired very well with him." (Tribal Football)
