Crystal Palace eye Eagles star Joel Obi

By Daily Sports on June 13, 2018

Crystal Palace are interested in signing Torino midfielder Joel Obi this summer, but face competition from Porto and Benfica.

Sport Italia, as cited on Tutto Mercato Web, claims that the Premier League side are interested in signing the Nigerian international as they look to strengthen their squad during the summer transfer window.

After coming through the ranks at Inter, Obi has found himself a home at Torino, where he has flourished since joining the club back in 2015.

Both Porto and Benfica would be able to offer the midfielder Champions League football in Portugal, but Palace will hope they can lure the player to the Premier League with a bigger salary.

The Nigerian international recently started for his country at Wembley during their 2-1 defeat against England in preparation for this summer’s World Cup in Russia.

Obi made 22 appearances for Torino in Serie A last season, scoring five goals and registered a further two assists. (CrystalPalace.com)
