Djokovic opens up on one of his biggest career regrets

Novak Djokovic was at a sponsor event this week and speaking to media, the Serbian opened up on what he learned from his difficult last year in tennis facing elbow injury and many difficult situations.

“The circumstances I’ve been in have taught me a great lesson, which is to be patient and to trust the process and that eventually things will fall into place. That’s what I’m hoping for here at Roland Garros,” Djokovic said. “It’s been much better for me in terms of the level of tennis that I’ve played in the last three or four weeks.

“Obviously, the last 15 months have been challenging for me, to say the least, with the surgery, injuries, trying to rebuild my game and making some changes with the racket as well to try to help my elbow. I had to reinvent things and try to find a way to get the most out of this situation.

“But I also learned that patience really is a virtue. For most of my career I’ve been quite impatient.” (Tennis World)
