FIFA threatens to expel Nigeria from 2018 World Cup over Ex-Warri Wolves player

By Daily Sports on May 16, 2018

Warri Wolves are on the verge of being deducted three points and may likely be relegated if they fail to pay former player Adama Coulibaly N7,008,750.00 owed the Malian in wages and remuneration.

The Nigerian National League side have failed to comply with the decision passed by the Dispute Resolution Chamber on 23rd March, 2017 and ordered to pay a fine to the amount of CHF 5,000.00 (approximately N1.8 million) in addition to the money owed the player.

Warri Wolves have failed to settle the debt to the creditor Adama Coulibaly after they were granted a final period of grace of thirty days and the player has vowed to write FIFA Disciplinary Committee that three points should be deducted from the team in the domestic championship.

Based on the ruling, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee will decide on a possible relegation of Warri Wolves to the third tier if they fail to pay the amount due even after the deduction of the three points.

The Nigerian Federation have received a warning of possible exclusion from FIFA competitions, including the upcoming World Cup, if they fail to provide proof that three points were deducted from Warri Wolves.

The sponsor of Warri Wolves, Delta State Government, have failed to act on the warnings by Fifa and it appears they deliberately want the club dead.
