Hundreds of key decision makers and representatives of various organizations gathered in Thailand to attend SportAccord Summit, the most important event of the year in the field of sports.
The summit began on Sunday and will continue till April 20.
The summit allows professionals in the industry of sports, including representatives of sports federations, athletes, medical professionals and inventors to exchange ideas and to network in order to strategically shape global, regional and national agendas.
The five-day event hosted by Sports Authority of Thailand at the Bangkok Convention Center includes a two-day summit conference, as well as a three-day exhibition represented by industries, sports organisations, governments offices, cities and events services.
Special sessions will be devoted to health, socially responsible marketing, sponsorship, media management and technology.
The summit began with council meetings of several sports organisations – including the International World Games Association (IWGA), which organised international competitions of non-Olympic sports, including squash, base-ball, soft-ball, kick-boxing and Sumo; the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) and the Association of International Sports Federations recognised the International Olympic Committee (ARISF).
The three organisations will hold their general meetings. A major exhibition involving Olympic committees, sports federations and sports associations will open at the Bangkok Convention Centre on Tuesday. (Anadolu Agency)
