Nigeria’s Suwaibidu Galadima has won gold in the men’s T47 100m at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
T47 is a disability sports classification for athletes with disability primarily for competitors with a wrist or below amputation.
Agency reports have it that Galadima recorded a time of 11.04 seconds to win the final on Friday.
James Arnott from England won silver with a time of 11.30 seconds while Jamaica’s Tevaughan came third to win bronze with a time of 11.63 seconds.
Another Nigerian Oluwatobiloba Amusan has also won a gold medal in the women 100 metres hurdles at the ongoing Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
This victory has increased the number of Nigeria’s medal to eight gold, five silver, and five bronze.
The 20-year-old athlete raced to cross the line in 12.68 seconds making her the first Nigerian to win the title at the 2018 Commonwealth games. (Agency reports)
