Friendlies: Junior Ajayi reacts to Super Eagles call-up

Al Ahly striker Junior Ajayi was pleased to be called up to Nigeria's senior national team for the first time in his career ahead of the friendlies against Poland and Serbia.

The former Dream Team VI star took to social media to thank the Super Eagles faithful for his invitation, and vowed that he will make them proud if he is handed his international debut in one of the fixtures.

The 22-year-old has seen his stock rise in the last three months, the Confederation of African Football named him in the ceremonial Team of the Year after helping Al Ahly reach the final of the Champions League.

''With grateful heart and total respect to the family of @NGSuperEagles and all #Nigerians, this invitation to our National Team is a dream come true 🙌,'' Ajayi tweeted.

''I will make you all proud by the grace of God. Thank You #CoachRorh. Thank you @AlAhly. #AjayiJnr #Russia2018''.

 This season, Ajayi has been directly involved in 17 goals (8 goals, 9 assists) in 25 matches in all competitions for Al Ahly.

The Nigeria Football Federation are expected to officially confirm Ajayi's invitation for the friendlies on Wednesday, March 7.
