Nigeria international goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa is now attracting interests from clubs in France, South Africa, Egypt, Tunisia and Israel, supersport.com can report.
According to Ezenwa's representative, Godwin Emmanuel, the goalkeeper has become a target of several clubs in Africa and Europe following his impressive performance for Nigeria's national team in the African Nations Championship (Chan), WAFU and the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualification.
Emmanuel, CEO of Gzedsports Management Company in South Africa, revealed that there are a host of clubs on the trail of the goalkeeper who was with FC Ifeanyiubah in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) last season.
Emmanuel said the identity of the interested clubs are being kept "under wraps" despite OGC Nice, Maccabi Haifa, Hapoel Tel Aviv and Mamelodi Sundowns linked to his client.
"It is true that Ikechukwu has several number of clubs interested in him which we are happy about.
"But the interests in him do not surprise us though because he has been up and doing and has been in very good form in matches he has played for the Super Eagles. So those appearances did not go unnoticed to the World.
"For now we will rather keep the names of the clubs interested in him under wraps because nothing has been concluded just yet. But there are interests from clubs in Africa and in Europe as well, that is the much I can give away at the moment," Emmanuel told supersport.com.
Emmanuel also said Ezenwa at the moment is "focused on representing Nigeria whenever he gets the chance to do so." © supersport.com
