Kwara United won promotion back to the NPFL after they learnt from the mistakes that caused them not to do so the previous season, according to coach John Obuh.
The Ilorin club are back in the top league even with several rounds of matches to spare in the Northern Conference.
Obuh told SCORENigeria: “Our inability to gain promotion last season became a very big lesson for us and one of the reasons then was because we did not record enough points and when the calamity struck it became a problem for us.
“But this time we decided to get more points most especially from the away games so that when we consolidate it with home points it will be easier for us and we are able to achieve it.
“That shows the quality of the team that we have.”
He said with the total support of the club chairman Thompson Oladimeji and the Kwara State Governor, ‘The Afonja Warriors’ will more than hold their own in the top flight come next season.
“I so much believe in the chairman of the team and he has a good relationship with the Governor of the state and together we ought not to entertain any fears about how we will fare in the NPFL,” Obuh assured.(SCORENigeria)
