Falconets head coach, Christopher Danjuma has said his side are in a perfect competitive mood ahead of the 2018 Fifa U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Tanzania.
The nation’s U20 side are hosts of their East African opposite in Saturday’s preliminary clash at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.
The reverse fixture clash of the qualifier is expected to hold in fortnight in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Danjuma said his side match plan is to win convincingly so as to make the reverse fixture in Dar es Salaam a mere formality.
“The girls are in a competitive mood heading into Saturday’s crucial clash against Tanzania right here in Benin City.
“The girls want to establish themselves firmly in the qualifying campaign by going all out to beat Tanzania with wide goal margin so as to make the reverse fixture in Dar es Salaam a lot cheaper and easier.
“We have been able to build a strong cohesion among the players and I can tell you that this present crop of players will go places in their chosen career.
“I’m lucky to have some key players from the past U17 and U20 in the squad and their wealth of experience has proved quite helpful among the rookies in their midst.
“I think we are good to go and with the prayers and supports of Nigerians we will be able to earn a landmark result.
“That’s not to say we are underrating the Tanzanians, no, this is an African qualifier there is no cheap nuts we respect every team.
“We know that even the supposedly weak teams once Nigeria is involved it has a way of charging them to action,” he said. © supersport.com
