Golbe praises Boboye on Plateau Utd's impressive season

By Daily Sports on July 29, 2017

Plateau United captain Elisha Golbe has credited their magnificent run in this season's Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) to their coach Kennedy Boboye.

The Jos club have surprisingly punched above their weights, leading the top division for larger part of the campaign leaving in their wake the big guns like Enyimba, Rangers, Kano Pillars and Rivers United.

Interestingly Plateau United only survived relegation on the final day of last season by the skin of their teeth but this term they have upped the ante with their surprise form happening at a time Boboye arrived in Jos to take charge.

Golbe now believes that their turnaround this season has been influenced by Boboye's know-how.

"Boboye is a very good coach. He has been so influential for us this season. You know every coach has his own pattern. His own is working for us and we are always happy with his style. He's a coach you would like to play for."

I've played under many coaches but coach Boboye is one of the few that will not only relate with you as a coach but as a brother and a father. He gives every player the opportunity to express themselves. He's close to us. We are friends and we are one happy big family here at Plateau United.

"We give God the glory for the courage, hard work and determination to get this far, so also the great support from the (Plateau State) governor (Simon Lalong). The huge support from everyone and our togetherness in the team has been working for us," Golbe told npfl.ng.
