Sunshine Stars head coach Duke Udi has predicted a difficult game against top-flights El Kanemi Warriors.
The Owena Waves are hosts of the Maiduguri Warriors in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 31 clash at the Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium in Ijebu Ode.
Udi said though his side playing away from home they are mentally and physically ready to match the visitors for the whole three points at stake in the encounter.
“At Sunshine Stars we respect our opponents without preference so come Sunday we will accord El Kanemi Warriors due respect.“
El Kanemi Warriors have a good coach in the person of Ladan Bosso, a fantastic coach and one of the coaches I look up to in the profession.
“We are expecting a very tough game from El Kanemi Warriors and I have told my players that it’s a 50/50 game and a chance for either side to claim victory.“
Right now we do not have a home and teams come to us with that mindset of coming to engage us in a neutral ground.
“Ijebu Ode is not our home ground but the beauty of it is that my players are getting used to playing at the ground.“
We were undone by hard luck in the home loss to Nasarawa United as we clearly outplayed the side.
“However, I think we are good to go against El Kanemi Warriors, the players are mentally and physically fit to contest for the whole three points at stake”.
The Akure landlords are 15th on the 20-team top-flight log on 39 points, 15 behind league leaders Plateau United.
