Victor Moses’ grassroots coach blasts Edo FA from America

Douglas Idahosa, the famous grassroots coach from Benin City is currently holidaying in ‘God’s own country’, the United States of America.

He’s the founder of one of Nigeria’s best known grassroots clubs BJ Foundation of Benin City, a club that proudly counts amongst its alumni international football stars including Isaac Success (Watford), Victor Moses (Chelsea), Edison Echiejile (Anderlecht), Ndubuisi Agu (Vitoria Setubal), Bright Enobakhare (Wolverhampton Wanders) and Erhu Obanor (Guether Furth) among others.

Idahosa is chilling in Washington DC where he feels that he’s been forced to go following the ban he received from the Edo state Football Association following the very unfortunate fracas that ensued during the semi Final of the Edo FA Cup at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium between his club and national amateur side Dynamite Force FC.

Dynamite had scored a very controversial late second goal which looked like an offside goal with seconds remaining in the match.  BJ felt was a grave injustice against them was done by the referees and, unfortunately, their players couldn’t control their emotion and physically assaulted the referee.

It led to a free for all fight between players and ofiicials of both clubs.

The Edo FA afterwards slammed a one-year ban on BJ and Douglas Idahosa for their involvement in the fracas.

Idahosa was immediately defiant after the ban, and satirically told newsmen that the FA should have banned him and his club for up to ten years. He accused the Frank Ilaboya-led board of the FA of a series of bias against his club.

So off he has gone to America and in a recent Facebook post to announce his arrival in the USA Idahosa wrote: “Good news. World Coach arrived Washington D.C. safely. United States of America. Who God has blessed no man can stop. God has really lifted me up, thanks to Edo FA’s suspension that has enabled to me open another page of life in God’s own country.”
