Why Onazi quit Trabzonspor- Makinwa

By Daily Sports on July 2, 2017

Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has terminated his contract with Turkish club Trabzonspor over unpaid salaries, his agent Ayodele Makinwa has informed Completesportsnigeria.com.

The 24-year-old Nigeria star was also owed over three months salaries at Lazio during the 2015/16 season before he joined Trabzonspor last year.

Onazi, who signed a four-year deal last season from Italian side SS Lazio, decided to leave the club after facing a reoccurrence of unpaid salaries.

"Onazi has terminated his contract with Trabzonspor but we are talking with the club to find a solution regarding payment," Makinwa revealed.

Former Super Eagles striker Makinwa also refused to divulge the number of months being owed his player but he added 'not much'.

It was reported last week that Trabzonspor rejected a €5m bid from an unnamed club in Europe for Onazi's services. Completesportsnigeria.com
