Arsenal to cut ties with Chuba Akpom after fifteen years

By Daily Sports on June 24, 2017

Chuba Akpom could bid farewell to Arsenal this summer after spending fifteen years at the club, according to reports.

The Independent says the Hale End Academy product is among the nine players expected to depart the Emirates Stadium outfit before the close of the transfer window.

Arsenal are hoping to extend the contract of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil with improved wage offers, but will have to sell several first-teamers to raise funds to secure the long-term future of both players.

At the moment, Championship outfit Leeds United are in pole position to sign Chuba Akpom.

The 21-year-old has made ten appearances for the first team of Arsenal in the last four years, and has enjoyed loan spells with Hull City, Brighton, Brentford, Coventry City and Nottingham Forest.
