Conte reveals how he led champion Chelsea to Premier League Title

By Daily Sports on May 22, 2017

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has pointed to the change in formation at the club which he effected as a key reason for their Premier League title triumph.

Chelsea defeated Sunderland 5-1 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday to set a new record of 30 Premier League wins in a season.

“I think this change (three at the back) was very important for us,” Conte told Sky Sports.

We found the right balance and every single player enjoyed this type of situation. It was a key moment for us.”

On Chelsea’s title win, the Italian said: “I think it’s amazing for me and the players and the club.

“It’s a great achievement for us, the season was very tough, but now it’s right to enjoy this moment.

“I dreamt this but I must be honest if you asked me on my first day at Chelsea if I would win the league and be in the final of the FA Cup.

“It was very difficult for me to imagine this.”

Mercurial playmaker Eden Hazard agreed with his manager, although added that the players’ efforts complimented their manager’s ideas.

“We train very hard. And I think it was key for the season,” Hazard said.
