Remo Stars striker, Victor Mbaoma has said his side will work very hard to avoid defeat at top-flights, Rivers United.
The Sky Blue Stars will be the guests of the Pride of Rivers in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) rescheduled matchday 14 clash at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt.
Mbaoma who already foresees a difficult match said it will not augur well for the side to start and end the first stanza campaign on a losing note.
“The encounter at Rivers United will not be easy same as the clash at former champions, Enyimba.
“It’s usually tough confronting the big teams on their ground right there before their teeming supporters.
“However, we will do the needful and utmost to grind or squeeze out a decent result.
“We have resumed the ignobly bottom position after the champions, Enugu Rangers’ good results against Kano Pillars and Wikki Tourists.
“Honestly, we want to end the first term campaign on winning note or at least a draw.
Although the clash at Rivers United is a rescheduled one we view it as a last match on the first term calendar as such we will not want it to end in defeat just as the kick-off home loss to leaders, Plateau United,” said the Remo Stars’ bereaved lanky marksman to supersport.com.
