Nasarawa Amazons central defender Nnodim eyes NWFL win v Osun

By Daily Sports on March 28, 2017

Nasarawa Amazons central defender Sarah Nnodim believes victory will be key in the side’s first clash of the season against Osun Babes.

The Lafia landladies are hosts of the Osogbo outfit in Wednesday’s Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) matchday 1 clash at the Lafia Township Stadium.

Nnodim said her side are prepared to give the challengers from Osogbo a tough time.

“We are ready to kick-start our title campaign. We are eager to get onto the pitch to prove our mettle and to make our top-flight intentions very clear.

“The first game of the season always important, we want to win and then take from there.

“We know that Osun Babes are strong having gone through a series of fortifications during the preseason, but we are determined to stick to our own pattern and style of play.

“We are going into the match with an aura of past champions to further prove to others that we are here for serious business,” said the Nigerian strong woman to supersport.com.

Nnodim said her side’s main target this season is to be champions once again.

“Our target is to get into the final of the Federation Cup and league and then claim the titles.

“We are determined to lift the trophies or at least one of the titles, preferably the Federation Cup title.
“Personally, I will always go for the Federation Cup title because of the wide acceptance and recognition attached to it,” said Nnodim.

The Lafia-based side next match will be at Confluence Amazons in Lokoja, Kogi State.
