MFM hold Wikki, Enyimba beat FC Ifeanyiubah 2-0

MFM FC continued their good form in this season’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) with a gutsy 1-1 draw in a rescheduled game away to Wikki Tourists on Wednesday.

The hosts took the lead on 35 minutes through forward, Shammah Tanze at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi.

They were however pegged back by the irrepressible and plucky visitors who got back on level terms 16 minutes after the restart.

Stanley Okorom was the man on the money for MFM as his well-struck shot flew into the net.

The result means that MFM consolidates their place on the standings as they remain in third with 21 points from 12 matches.

In the other rescheduled NPFL Matchday 9 clash which was played out in Calabar, seven-time champions, Enyimba produced a solid display to overcome southeastern neighbours, FC Ifeanyiubah 2-0.

Club captain, Mfon Udoh’s intelligent assist was swept home by Joseph Osadiaye in the 32nd minute as the Peoples Elephant took the lead to settle jangling nerves among the home faithful at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar.

Udoh completed a good day in the office for himself and the club with the insurance goal, two minutes from time.

Enyimba move up four places on the log as they now occupy eighth spot with 18 points from 13 matches.

Wikki Tourists stay bottom of the standings with 12 points from 12 matches.
