Representatives of Nigeria’s most exciting young striker Victor Osimhen have dismissed rumours that the player has suffered a major injury while with German Bundesliga Wolfsburg.
Osimhen’s representative Ariyo Igbayilola said the striker is not injured and rather he is being rested after playing a series of friendlies for Wolfsburg who will sign a professional contract with in January 2017.
“No, there is nothing wrong with Victor whatsoever. He is fine and ready to go,” Ariyo said.
“He has played as many as four friendly matches for Wolfsburg and they in their wisdom have thought it wise to rest the boy.
“He will soon be back in Nigeria to work on his papers.”
Record top scorer at the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile, Osimhen will clock 18 next month and he is expected to sign a professional contract with Wolfsburg in January 2017.
He was courted by several top European clubs including Arsenal and Anderlecht before he chose Wolfsburg. (mtnfootball.com)
