Olulayo joins Abia Warriors

The management of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side Abia Warriors have announced the official signing of former Nigeria U23 player, Seun Olulayo.

The former U20 star campaigned for the top-flight side Sunshine Stars last season.

The attacking midfielder, who won the 2015 African Nations U23 championship in Senegal with coach Samson Siasia, put pen on paper at the club’s headquarters in Umuahia on Tuesday afternoon.

Club chairman Emeka Inyama said the need to do well in the upcoming 2016/17 NPFL season necessitated the club’s action to go for the best legs in the land.

“We want to excel in the upcoming top flight and that’s why we have gone to get the best legs in the land to fortify the team for the challenges ahead.

“Seun Olulayo belongs to the cadre of players we required to add value to the team,” said Inyama to supersport.com.

Other talented players recruited by the club include Heartland captain and defender Chinedu Efugh, Dele Olorundare of Sunshine Stars, Newman Musa of Mountain of Fire Miracles Ministries (MFM) and Zoumane Doumbia of Heartland among other good players.

Warriors finished the past NPFL season in 13th spot on 48 points, 15 behind neighbours and winners Enugu Rangers. (supersport.com)
