Amoo makes return to NPFL as Shooting Stars' coach

Nigeria's Under-23 national team assistant coach, Fatai Amoo, is happy to be back in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) after he was named coach of Ibadan club, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) on Thursday.

Amoo was officially presented to the public at the office of the Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Abayomi Oke, and has been saddled with the responsibility to manage first-team duties for the 2016/17 NPFL season and also guide them through the Federation Cup.

The former Julius Berger coach calls his appointment by Shooting Stars "a homecoming."\

He has previously managed at the club between 2009 and 2011 before being hooked by the Oluyole Warriors on a two-year deal.

"This is a homecoming for me," Amoo said. "I feel very happy to be appointed coach of the club with so much history, tradition and huge supporting like Shooting Stars.

"I am ready to get down to work already. There is so much to do ahead of the season as Shooting Stars are one of the biggest clubs in the country when you consider their history, achievement in the country and on the continent as well as the tradition.

"I believe we can make this club great once more, and with the help of everyone that is a possibility. Right now I will sit down with the other coaches and look at the team we have and hopefully we will put them in shape and may be bring in a few players so that we will be ready for the new season."

Amoo only recently finished his CAF A-Licence coaching course in Abuja. (npfl.ng)
