Odemwingie in line to join Bolton

By Daily Sports on October 20, 2016

English League One outfit Bolton Wanderers have shown interest in Nigerian striker Peter Odemwingie.

According to reports in England, the 35-year-old, now a free agent, is expected to meet with Bolton officials on Wednesday to possibly conclude discussions.

The former West Bromwich Albion and Cardiff man is also expected to have his medical tests on Thursday, barring any hitch.

However, Odemwingie's move to The Trotters could be completed this week before the club's trip to Bury for their matchday 15 league game, it has also been reported.

At the start of this season, Steve Bruce offered Odemwingie a trial at English Premier League side Hull City, but the plug was pulled when the manager resigned unexpectedly.

Already, Odemwingie had told BBC of his keen interest in returning to football since his last competitive appearance for Bristol City in March last season when he scored against Bolton in a 6-0 win while on loan from Stoke City.

“It's tough being a free agent but I'm in great shape and hopefully a move should happen this week. Mentally and physically I feel strong, when your body and heart is perfectly prepared then you wouldn't lack the right motivation to succeed.

“As you grow older it becomes tougher in football, you only need someone to believe in you and willing to take a chance. I still have a lot to offer a team and I only need to show what I can do somewhere for people to believe that,” Odemwingie said. (supersport.com)
