The Super Eagles got a feel of the pitch at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola Saturday evening and despite the boiling heat, their confidence remains high.
Tempreture by the 1.30pm kick-off on Sunday is put at around 35 degrees, certainly not what the Eagles Europe-based contingent are used to.
Coach Gernot Rohr herded his players to the stadium three hours after arrival in Ndola and they sweated it out for two hours after which they went back to their Protea Hotel Lodge, confident that the harsh weather will not stop them from notching a win against the Chipolopolo, who boast of 14 home-based players.
Iwobi, who most fear might wobble under such weather, appeared fit and ready to go, with other players like Ahmed Musa, Kelechi Iheanacho, Brown Ideye and Carl Ikeme assuring they are gunning for a win, the weather not withstanding.
''We are prepared for whatever gimmick they come up with. We are here for business and hopefully, we shall do our talking on the field,” said Rohr, who recalled bringing Niger to Zambia.
“My boys are mentally and physically ready for the game. We are ready, no injury, and highly motivated for the game.'' (mtnfootball.com)
