Kano Pillars Chairman, Kabiru Baita said there would be a major clear-out at the club after they finished a disappointing seventh in the Nigeria league despite the huge support from the state government.
Coach Mohammed Babaganaru has already quit the four-time champions.
Baita told the players: ”Some players must go and new ones are coming very soon.
“The door is open to any player who wishes to leave because the next season will be a new Kano Pillars.”
This season, Pillars enjoyed one of the biggest budgets – a reported 800 million Naira budget – but failed to show for the huge financial support of the government.
“We thank Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for his financial and moral support to the club,”Baita said.
“We will go back to the drawing board to correct the challenges that confronted us this past season.”
He further thanked the fans for their patience while promising them “changes in the team very soon”.
The team have been granted a three–week holiday. (mtnfootball.com)
