Former Vice Chairman of Kano State Football Association (KAFA), Alhaji Gambo Musa, and former Kano Pillars board member, Alhaji Nasiru Garba, have both condoled the Management of El-Kanemi Warriors FC of Maiduguri over the death of their staff, Usman Kafarja a.k.a Warriors.
The two men observed that late Warriors was a true fan of El-Kanemi Warriors and the national teams. According to them, Warriors will be remembered forever for his contributions to football.
They said during a visit the team in Kano before their NPFL Week 36 match against Kano Pillars: “We are here to console with Elkanemi Warriors Management and the Government of Borno State over the death of Warriors. To say the least, he was one of the football stakeholders in the country that unconditionally loved the game so much that he travelled around the country whenever matches were played.
“We are appealing to the Borno State Government to assist the family he left behind and NFF should assistant the family, too. Warriors was not only for El-Kanemi Warriors but for the nation too.”
A minute’s silence was observed in honour of Usman Kafarja before the kick-off of the El-Kanemi match against Kano Pillars.
Meanwhile, the management of Kano Pillars has also condoled El-Kanemi Warriors. During their visit, the team Secretary Zakari Mohammed ordered for special prayer for the late Warriors while the State FA Secretary Shehu Bashari also prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
El-Kanemi Warriors Management through the Team Manager, Alhaji Baba Ajayi, thanked the Kano FA and other football stakeholders in the state, Kano Pillars and the government of the state for their concern over the death of Mr. Kafarja. “On behalf of the Borno State Government, El-Kanemi Management and the good people of Borno State we appreciate you all. May Allah be with you,” he prayed.
