The PUNCH had earlier reported that Team Nigeria concluded its campaign at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games with 24 medals comprising 10 gold, seven silver and seven bronze.

The medal haul represents another commendable outing for Nigeria at the Games, although it falls short of the country’s best performances in recent editions.

Nigeria won 35 medals: 12 gold, nine silver and 14 bronze at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham after topping the African medals table.

At the 2018 Gold Coast Games in Australia, Team Nigeria returned home with 24 medals comprising nine gold, nine silver and six bronze, while the country recorded an even stronger performance at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, also held in Glasgow, with 36 medals made up of 11 gold, 11 silver and 14 bronze.
