The Chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Lagos State Chapter, Ambassador Olatutu Oladunni, alongside members of the Executive Committee (EXCO), has extended warm felicitations to Muslim and Christian faithful across Lagos State as they commence the sacred observances of Ramadan and Lent.

In her goodwill message, Amb. Oladunni described both seasons as profound periods of spiritual renewal, self-discipline, sacrifice, and deeper devotion to faith and humanity.

She noted that Ramadan and Lent present unique opportunities for reflection, reconciliation, and recommitment to the values that foster peaceful coexistence and societal growth.

She urged adherents of both faiths to use the solemn period to pray for sustained peace, unity, and progress in Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole.

“Ramadan and Lent serve as powerful reminders of love, compassion, selflessness, and service to humanity.

"As we engage in fasting and prayer, let us extend hands of kindness to the less privileged and strengthen the bonds that unite us as one people,” she stated.

The Lagos SWAN Chairman further encouraged members of the sporting community to uphold the principles of fairness, integrity, professionalism, and unity, emphasizing that sports continue to play a vital role in promoting harmony and national development.

Amb. Oladunni, on behalf of the Lagos SWAN EXCO, wished the Muslim faithful a blessed Ramadan Mubarak and prayed that the Lenten season brings grace, spiritual upliftment, and renewed strength to the Christian faithful.

She expressed optimism that the holy seasons will usher in peace, collective prosperity, and greater unity across the state.

She concluded by calling on all members and stakeholders to remain committed to initiatives that promote tolerance, mutual respect, and sustainable progress in all sectors of the society.
