INEC Data Reveals South-South Voter Breakdown: Igbos 7M, Indigenes 12M

Speaking on Signature TV, Ofoegbu highlighted that out of nearly 19 million registered voters in the South-South, around 6–7 million are Igbo, while the remaining 12 million are indigenous to the region. Similar trends were observed in the South-West.

Ofoegbu argued that understanding these figures is essential for political strategy and for challenging misconceptions about dominance by any single ethnic group. He emphasized that both regions are ethnically diverse, and voter numbers alone do not indicate uniform political preferences.
