By Daily Sports Nigeria on December 1, 2025

The organising committee of the Kwara Kiddies YEG League has announced that the grand finale of the 2025 edition will take place on Sunday, December 14, at the Kwara Football Academy pitch in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi, who doubles as the chairman of the league, is expected to host an array of sports stakeholders in the state to mark the culmination of an exciting and competitive season of grassroots youth football.

In June 2024, Awoniyi, has signed a four-year agreement with the organisers of the league, which saw him become the major sponsor of the tournament from the third season.

Organised by the Youth Elite Group in Ilorin, Kwara State, the Kwara Kiddies League kicked off in 2022 with a U-12 league for academies in the state.

Throughout season IV, the league has offered children unique opportunities to develop their skills, build discipline, and embrace teamwork through well-organised competitive matches.

Other notable personalities who are expected to attend the final include the Chairman of the Kwara State Football Association, Idris Musa and the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Mogaji.

Through Awoniyi’s support, the league has been listed on Wyscout, the world’s leading scouting and video analysis platform, providing young players unprecedented visibility. He has also consistently supported the league with food items, sports kits, and medical services, among other interventions.

Awoniyi maintains that the league is one of the most credible and effective pathways for young footballers in Kwara to reach the top level.

According to the Chairman of the Organising Committee, Olaide Ahli, the league continues to strengthen its role as the most organised grassroots football programme in the state.

“The Kwara Kiddies League has grown into a powerful platform for nurturing the next generation of football stars. This Grand Finale is not just the end of a season; it is a celebration of the dreams, talent, and resilience of our young athletes,” he said.

“We appreciate all academies, coaches, parents, sponsors, and supporters who made this season a huge success.”
