Annaba, Algeria --The Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA), has awarded the hosting rights of the 2nd Africa School's Games to Nigeria.
Mustapha Berraf, ANOCA's President in a statement communicated the historic decision made during its Extraordinary of the Executive Committee of ANOCA meeting
to Engr Habu Ahmed Gumel, president of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC).
''We are pleased to officially award the hosting rights for the 2nd African School Games in 2027 to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
''ANOCA has full confidence that the Nigeria Olympic Committee, in partnership with the Federal Government of Nigeria, will demonstrate the highest levels of commitment, capacity, and hospitality required to organise a successful event.
''We are certain that the 2027 edition will not only uphold the values of the Games but also build upon the success of the inaugural edition.
''Please be assured that ANOCA is committed to providing technical support and guidance throughout your preparations to ensure this continental youth sporting celebration is a resounding success.
’'We offer you our heartfelt congratulations on this significant award,'' noted Berraf, who doubles as President, ANOCA and Member, Vice President, ANOC."
