A screening exercise to select the best 18 players who will constitute the 2024 JOF All Stars will commence on Monday 19 August 2024 at the Ojo Oniyun Playing Ground, Ebute Meta,Lagos.
According to the organisers, JOF Nigeria Limited and Lagos State Grassroots Football Association, the JOF All Stars are being constituted after the successful organisation of the 5th JOF Kids U-13 Football Tournament which final was held at the University of Lagos Sports Centre, Akoka, Yaba on 12 May this year.
A total of 77 football clubs across the metropolitan Lagos State played in the matches of the month-long competition at the end of which 40 players were selected from the 5th JOF Kid Cup 2024 to constitute the 2024 JOF All Stars.
Out of these 40 players, 18 are expected to make the JOF All-Stars squad at the end of the screening which will be supervised by seasoned football technocrats.
HB Utility of Ilupeju defeated Zamadek Football Academy of Lagos Island 3-0 in the final to win the 5th U-13 JOF Cup, while Latoyam Academy defeated Strong Dove Academy 1-0 to win the third-place match.
A total sum of N1,850,000 was presented to the teams and players by the sponsor with the champions, HB Utility receiving N750,000. The first runners up, Zamadek got N500,000. The third-place winners, Latoyam Academy received N350,000, while Strong Dove who came fourth got the sum of N250,000.
The tournament's best player, Ayomide Aitija of HB Utility got the sum of N25,000, while both the best goalkeeper Toheeb Ayorinde of HB Utility and highest goalscorer, Abdulahi Abolaji of Zamadek received the sum of N25,000 each.
