By Goodness Ndukuba, Awka on April 29, 2024

Nnewi, the industrial hub of Anambra state will host the second round of the 2024 Nigeria Beach Soccer League scheduled for May 15-19.

This historic event is the first time the South East state would stage the tournament.

This is coming after the Anambra State Beach Soccer Club participated in the just concluded first round of the Nigeria Beach Soccer League in Kebbi state.

Six teams, Kebbi State Beach Soccer Club, Kada BSC, Jigawa Golden Stars, Nmanko Patigi BSC, Kebbi United and the host

Anambra Beach Soccer Club (Anambra Warriors) will feature in the six-day event.

The teams will compete for bragging rights and Super Four qualifications, with the top four teams advancing to the next stage billed for Kaduna later in the year.

The Anambra Beach Soccer Association Board, inaugurated last year, has worked tirelessly to promote the rapid growth of beach soccer in the East.

Their efforts have paid off, with the formation of a formidable team that impressed in their debut outing in Kebbi state earlier in May.

The Beach Soccer League will be staged at the state-of-the-art Beach Soccer Arena recently constructed by the Anambra Beach Soccer Association Board at Nnewi, which provided a world-class venue for Beach soccer tournaments.

The four top teams at the end of the second round of the 2024 Beach soccer tournament in Anambra will compete for the coveted prize in Kaduna.
