Falcons role model for Nigerian youths — Remi Tinubu

By Daily Sports Nigeria on August 15, 2023

Wife of the President, Remi Tinubu, on Monday in Abuja hailed members of the Super Falcons, following their performance at the ongoing Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The PUNCH reports that the Falcons crashed out of the tournament following their loss through penalties to England penultimate Monday.

Addressing the players at the State House, Abuja, Mrs. Tinubu, who received the team alongside officials of the Nigeria Football Federation, said, “You  gave your all and we are proud of you. Although the final result did not go our way, I am here to remind you that victory is not solely determined by the score on the field. The unbreakable spirit and unity that you demonstrated are  true markers of success.”

Speaking further, she noted that the Falcons, through their performance, have now become role models for young girls in the country.

“You have not only represented Nigeria on the global stage but have also become role models for our youths, especially young girls who now see their aspirations mirrored in you.

“I salute you today and welcome you back home and our goodwill and best wishes go to other players who have gone back to their bases.  You gave your all, and we stand with you. We are so proud of you.”

In his remarks, NFF boss, Ibrahim Gusau, thanked the First Lady for the warm reception and assured that the players would continue to give good and qualitative representation to the country.
