Former England coach Fabio Capello has urged Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis to be more sensitive as regards to Victor Osimhen.
Capello disclosed that during the Globe Soccer Awards held in Dubai, he was opportune to hear some transfer rumours linking Osimhen to top clubs.
Osimhen has been in brilliant form this season, scoring nine goals and two assists in eleven Italian topflight games.
“(Didier) Drogba was also awarded… The case in point is that, even if he had more technique and quality,” Capello said to Tuttomercatoweb, according to Tribalfootball.
”But Osimhen is young, he can improve. (Rafael) Leao has more class, but Osimhen is a centre-forward, one who scores, has the qualities to be a crack.
”I heard rumours here in Dubai, De Laurentiis needs to straighten the antennas. Here I know several… Real Madrid? I don’t do names, not even under torture.”
The 23-year-old was one of the awardees during the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, beating two players of Nigerian descent Bukayo Saka and Jamal Musiala, and sixteen other talented youngsters to the Emerging Player Of The Year.
The Super Eagles striker has been linked with possible moves to clubs in the English Premier League, including Manchester United and Chelsea.
However the President of the Naples based club will only entertain an offer in the region of €100 million for the forward.
Osimhen’s five year contract with Napoli is valid up until the summer of 2025, with approximately two and a half years remaining.
