Abraham to Osimhen: Your goal saddened Roma players

By Daily Sports Nigeria on October 25, 2022

Roma striker Tammy Abraham admitted that Victor Osimhen’s late goal in Napoli’s hard-fought 1-0 win on Sunday made the Giallorossi sad, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Nigeria forward Osimhen crashed in his third goal in as many games with 10 minutes remaining of his first start since his return from injury to hand the Partenopei a win against one of their fiercest Serie A rivals in the Derby del Sole.

Luciano Spalletti’s men took advantage of Atalanta’s 2-0 home defeat to Lazio earlier on Sunday to move further ahead of the pack and become the only unbeaten side left in Italy’s topflight.

Roma are seven points back in fifth after a dogged, battling performance at the Stadio Olimpico but largely kept a lid on possibly Europe’s most exciting team.

After the match, Osimhen and Abraham were engaged in a friendly conversation, and according to Nigerian journalist; Oma Akatugba, who witnessed the interaction, the English footballer of Nigerian descent told Osimhen that he made the locker room said.

The journalist quoted Abraham as saying to Osimhen, “You made the whole locker room sad with your goal.”

Abraham has a Nigerian father and an English mother.
