Extent Of Ndidi’s Injury Revealed

Scan results have shown that the Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi only suffered a grade one tear which is expected to see him soon return to action.

Ndidi, who has been present 6 times in 7 Premier League games this season was forced off Nigeria’s camp in Algeria after feeling something in his hamstring.

He had been rumoured to have argued with the Super Eagles coach over his position on the pitch but the Portuguese coach, Jose Peseiro was quick to dismiss such claims.

“He came, he trained without intensity, a small training [session]. He feels something in his hamstring, and I think its best not to use [him]. It’s not dangerous but I’m not going to use one player in a friendly match if he can get more injured. He [returned] to Leicester for recovery,” Peseiro had said.

According to Nigerian journalist, Oluwashina Okeleji, Ndidi may be back against Nottingham Forest on October 3 as Leicester hope he recovers from the grade one hamstring tear he sustained.

Ndidi is yet to make an appearance under Peseiro as different bouts of injury limit his national team presence.
