As Enyimba Int’l FC Joins Big Teams’ In CAF Super League

By Daily Sports Nigeria on July 12, 2022

As that was not enough, CAF in its wisdom picked Nigeria’s Enyimba International FC as one of the twenty-four (24) team list recently released by the apex continental football governing body that would play in the maiden edition of the newly introduced CAF Super League kicking- off sooner than later.

We all knew where Enyimba is coming from. The Aba based FC is the most successful club side in the country today and it is time for the various country’s football club managers to ensure they bring something to the table i.e. what will throw up more clubs to join Enyimba as one of the big clubs in African continent. Pointedly teams from North region have seen CAF Champions League as their traditional birth right, preparing to the teeth and knowing how best to win the champs, knowing it like the back of their hands. While countries like Nigeria still struggle to even reach the second round of the Champs. It is instructive to note that the twenty-four (24) team list was dominated by teams from North African.

It won’t be a tea party championship which CAF places great premium on. Enyimba the only team from Nigeria must redouble her efforts to ensure it would make great impact in the newly introduced competition while we pray more teams from Nigeria join.

Truth is that much water has passed under Enyimba International FC bridge. I meant first rate players have left the club in search of greener pastures abroad, the latest being my close friend and namesake, Victor Mboma.

Let me pause here and rather urge veteran football administrator and chairman, Felix Anyansi Agwu and his management team plus the technical crew led by Findi George to put their eyes on the ball for this upcoming CAF Super League.

One thing that goes for Anyansi Agwu as seasoned football administrator is that he knows how to turn things around and it is hoped this won’t be an exemption.

Congratulations Enyimba International FC of Aba for being among the foremost club teams in Africa to play in the Big League strictly for the big boys in African football. Go for and aim at the first prize. No more No less!!
