It won’t Be Tea Party in Ghana Today- Omeruo • Says Eagles ‘re Focused • On Red Altert

By Daily Sports Nigeria on March 25, 2022

Ace central defender the Super Eagles, Kenneth Omeruo has described today’s game against Ghana in Baba Yara stadium Kumasi would be tough and intriguing adding that the Nigeria side is equal to the tch and so Eagles won’t ask of ensuring great result is achieved at the end of today’s first leg of Qatar 2022 World play-off.

He made the observation before the team jetted out of Abuja enroute Ghana for today’s crucial first leg which the two countries are hell bent on picking the sole ticket to join the rest of Africa’s representatives in Qatar in November.

According to him the spirit in the camp is high. One great thing is that we must contain them despite the fact that will be a difficult match. The players would concentrate on the game on hand. No amount of distraction by both the Black Stars players and their fans would matter to him and his teammates as those antics are very well known to them, he restated.

Omeruo further described the encounter as massive game which every player of the Super Eagles is aware and taken as such.  He totally ruled out any complacency by the players as there would be no room for any mistake.

“The game today against Ghana won’t be an easy on for both sides. However, the good here is that the players are not under pressure or tension from any quarter but quite aware of the high stakes. Every Nigerian attached much importance on this match and would ensure the team won’t toy with it.

The Nigerian is mixture of the experienced and younger players who are great and we will as a team give Ghana run for anything right before their fans. We are not in Ghana for tourism rather to get great result in this first leg game,” he reaffirmed.

AFCON 2013 Super Eagles winning member did not rule out strong resistance from their host, Black Stars who are so desperate to qualify for Qatar 2022 World summit in November haven missed the last edition of the tournament in Russia. From all angles it is obvious how highly technical and tactical the match would be. The tension is already on the air.  The Super Eagles are focused on the task ahead and would continue to do just that.

He called for prayers that god of soccer would smile on the Nigerian team as the team takes on Ghana.
