Osimhen Sends Message To Rohr On His Sack

By Daily Sports on December 15, 2021

Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, wished Gernot Rohr the best after he was sacked as Super Eagles head coach.

Rohr was dismissed on Sunday due to poor performances with the biennial African tournament in Cameroon between January 9 and February 6.

German Rohr, Super Eagles coach since August 2016, had a contract with Nigeria until December 2022. The 68-year-old led Nigeria to the 2018 World Cup and guided the team to third at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Rohr has been replaced by former Super Eagles coach Augustine Eguavoen, who coached the team from 2005 to 2007 and on an interim basis in 2010.

Osimhen wrote, “Thank you for everything coach and I wish you all the best.”

Gernot Rohr said on Monday he felt “huge frustration” following his sacking as Nigeria coach weeks ahead of the delayed 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. (Agency reports)
